On Friday, June 21st, the Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 held its eagerly anticipated Drive-Thru Chicken BBQ Dinner. All proceeds of the event support the efforts of the members of the fire company to keep the Penn Forest community safe. The hearty dinner platter featured a succulent half BBQ chicken, accompanied by cornbread, a baked potato, and coleslaw. This summer tradition, originally organized by the fire police, has grown immensely popular among both local residents and visitors to the area. Friday’s event quickly drew a line-up of vehicles, resulting in a sell-out by 4 PM.
In preparation for the next Drive-thru Dinner scheduled for July 12th, organizers have announced that additional dinners will be prepared to accommodate the high level of interest from the community. However, it is recommended that you arrive early to purchase your delicious chicken BBQ platter!
