Besides fire calls, our volunteers respond to motor vehicle accidents. The Emergency Responder Safety Institute recently released that 46 firefighters and roadway responders were fatally struck by passing vehicles when working at an accident scene in 2023. When you see emergency vehicles and personnel at work along the roadway, slow down and move over.
