👨🚒 Welcome 👩🚒
We, the Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 are a 100% volunteer organization. These men and women have chosen to dedicate much time and effort to serve and protect Penn Forest Township, its citizens, and visitors.
Penn Forest Township is 76 square miles in size and is the fastest growing and most populated municipality within Carbon County. Fire & Rescue services are provided by our company the Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company #1 as well as our sister station, Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Company #2 which is located on State Route 534 in the Northeastern portion of the Township.
On average we run about 200 calls per year. Calls include everything from structure fires to pumping basements, motor vehicle accidents to automatic alarms. When you dial 911, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we'll be there!
We rely heavily on your donations and various fund raising events to provide these services to the township. There are many members who choose not to fight fires or direct traffic but still wish to volunteer. These members are our contributing members. Without them we could not operate. They do everything from working in the kitchen, working events such as breakfast or flea markets, ticket sales; renting the hall...you name it.
We have a completely remodeled social hall that seats up to 299 people. Our social hall is now called "Whispering Pines Banquet Hall" and is available for rental. We can handle anything from a business meeting or training to a wedding reception or birthday party. We can also often accommodate short notice occasions such as funeral luncheon's or dinners. A full kitchen is also available. Please click on our pictures link for a glimpse of our hall. You may contact us by phone or through our contact page on the link to the left.
We are always looking for new volunteers! It is a great way to serve YOUR community and meet new people. Whether you want to be a firefighter or help in the kitchen, you are always welcome. All training is paid for by the fire company. If you are interested give us a call, stop by, or send us an E-mail. We will be glad to speak to you and answer any questions you may have.
